Sauna (Sauna)

To start heating the sauna, just press the button on the left of the sauna door, until you see a green light. The sauna stove will be switched on for 4 hours. If you want to switch it off before 4 hours, just press again the button and it will blink with a red light. Heating time is approximately 40 mn.

You can tell if the stove is on by the orange light under the temperature control knob (on the front and bottom of the stove).

The sauna should have a temperature between 60°C and 90°C and a humidity level of 10% to 25%. To increase the humidity level, pour water on the stones using the bucket and wooden spoon provided.

If you lose the connection between the control knob next to the door and the sauna heater (you cannot switch on the heater and the knob flashes red), follow the procedure below:

turn the heater off using the switch located at the bottom of the front of the heater (under the knob),
turn it back on after 30 seconds (the heater will then search for a connection for 120 seconds),
press the control button 4 times briefly and then once more for 2 seconds. The button should then flash green.

Pour commencer à chauffer le sauna, il suffit d'appuyer sur le bouton situé à gauche de la porte du sauna, jusqu' à ce que vous voyiez une lumière verte. Le poêle du sauna sera allumé pendant 4 heures. Si vous voulez l'éteindre avant 4 heures, il suffit d'appuyer à nouveau sur le bouton et il clignotera avec une lumière rouge. Le temps de chauffe est d’environ 40 mn.

Vous pouvez voir si le poêle est allumé car une lumière orange s’allume sous la molette de réglage de la température (sur la face avant et sur la partie basse du poêle).

Le sauna doit avoir une température entre entre 60°C et 90°C et afficher un taux d’humidité de 10 % à 25 %. Pour augmenter le taux d’humidité, verser de l’eau sur les pierres à l’aide du seau et de la cuillère en bois prévus à cet effet.

En cas de perte de liaison entre le bouton de commande à côté de la porte et le poêle du sauna (vous n’arrivez pas à allumer le poêle et le bouton clignote en rouge), il faut suivre la procédure suivante :

éteindre le poêle à l’aide de l’interrupteur situé sur en bas sur la face avant du poêle (sous la molette),
le rallumer après 30 secondes (le poêle cherchera alors la connection pendant 120 secondes),
appuyer 4 fois brièvement sur le bouton de commande puis encore une fois pendant pendant 2 secondes. Le bouton doit alors clignoter en vert.

Hot tub (Bain nordique)

VERY IMPORTANT : Never light a fire in the hot tub stove, if the bath is not full (water level 20cm above the highest nozzle) !!! Always check the water level before lighting a fire. If there is not enough water, the stove won’t bear the temperature and melt.

The ideal operating temperature is 36-38°C.

The main heating of the bath is the wood fire in the stove provided for this purpose. (Be careful not to overheat the bath as the stove is quite powerful). It usually takes 2-3 hours to heat the bath if you fill the stove with chopped wood and feed approximately it every 30 mn.

Empty the ash pan under the stove hearth before lighting the fire. It is best to use split logs to release more calories quickly. To do this, you can use the hatchet next to the wood storage to split wood.

When the stove is heating up, it is best to stir the water regularly using the wooden paddle provided.

Very important: in order to conserve water for the duration of your stay, it is imperative that you take a shower before each bath.

TRES IMPORTANT : N'allumez jamais de feu dans le poêle du spa si le bain n'est pas plein (niveau d'eau 20 cm au-dessus de la buse la plus haute). Vérifiez toujours le niveau d'eau avant d'allumer un feu. S'il n'y a pas assez d'eau, le poêle ne supportera pas la température et fondra.

La temperature idéale d’utilisation est 36-38 °C.

Le chauffage principal du bain est le feu de bois dans le poêle prévu à cet effet. (attention à ne pas surchauffer le bain car le poêle est puissant). Il faut généralement 2 à 3 heures pour chauffer le bain si vous remplissez le poêle de bois fendu et l'alimentez toutes les 30 minutes environ.

Videz le bac à cendres sous le foyer du poêle avant d’allumer le feu. Il est préférable d’utiliser des bûches fendues pour dégager plus de calories rapidement. Pour ce faire, utilisez la hachette à côté du rangement de bois pour fendre du bois.

Lorsque le poêle est en chauffe, il est utile de mélanger régulièrement l’eau à l’aide de la pagaie en bois prévue à cet effet.

Très important : afin de conserver l’eau le temps de votre séjour, il faut impérativement se doucher avant chaque bain,

Wood consumption (consommation de bois)

You may use all the wood and firelighters you need from stock which is sheltered on the left side of the entrance of the house.

Vous pouvez utiliser tout le bois et les allume feux dont vous aurez besoin en puisant dans le stock qui à l’abri sur le côté gauche de l’entrée de la maison.

Trash management (Gestion des déchets)

It is highly recommended not leave any filled trash can outside of the house. As we are close to the forest, wildlife may come and open them.

There are two different kinds of recycled trash in Gerardmer :

Glass
Paper, plastic bottles.

They have to be thrown in the containers located at the crossing of Chemin des fourmis and Chemin des alisiers (Google maps link).

Il est hautement recommandé de ne pas laisser de sac poubelle plein en dehors de la maison. Comme nous sommes proches de la forêts, des animaux pourraient venir et les ouvrir.

Deux catégories de déchets sont recyclées à Gérardmer :

Verre
Papier et bouteilles plastiques.

Les déchets sont à jeter dans les containers situés à l’intersection du Chemin des Fourmis et du Chemin des Alisiers (lien Google Maps).

Door window opening (Ouverture de la porte fenêtre)

The door window leading to the terrace must be effectively snapped on before getting closed with the handle. Don’t force the handle if it’s not closing properly, by snap the door further.

La porte fenêtre menant à la terrasse doit être correctement enclenchée avant d’être fermée à l’aide la poignée. Ne pas forcer la poignée si elle ne se tourne pas facilement, mais enclencher davantage la porte dans le montant.

Electrical switches (Interrupteurs électriques)

Porcelain electrical switches are rather fragile. If it doesn’t work properly, it shouldn’t be forced. Please report the problem to the house’s employee.

Les interrupteurs électriques en porcelaine sont relativement fragiles. S’ils ne fonctionnent pas correctement, ne pas les forcer mais indiquer le problème à l’employé(e) de maison.
